What is Kids Camp Out?
KCO is an exciting annual 24 hour camping experience in tents, for kids in grades 3-6 + youth leaders (grade 7-12). KCO provides a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to explore faith through their own discovery, encourage sharing and relationships with their peers.
During the weekend, children and young people enjoy a wide range of crafts, games, performances, activities, discovering more about God’s kingdom and talking about their lives in small groups. They get to participate in sports, music, games, prayer, craft and Bible stories.
Organise your own group to attend
If you are interested in organising your own group you will need to contact the UCA Tasmanian Office so that you can begin the process of organising Working with Children Checks and be on the mailing list for information.
KCO is an event for children run by the Uniting Church in Australia and has been held annually in the Presbytery of Tasmania for over 30 years.
Congregations, schools and community groups bring children together in tents for a camping in community experience. Each child is supervised by an adult in a group of up to 6 children.
The leaders have undergone Keeping Children Safe screening and training and have undergone a Working with Children Check as part of the church’s commitment to providing a safe place.
Children attending Campout will travel by bus under adult supervision to and from Launceston & Hobart.
