Read the COVID-19 update letter for local leaders in congregations and faith communities, from the Uniting Church in Tasmania (Presbytery and Synod) for Monday 16/3/2020 – sent by direct email this evening, but also posted here for ease of location.

The diagram below shows why everyone is asked to wash hands thoroughly and frequently, keep a distance apart for mutual care, and minimise gatherings and travel: slowing the impact on the community helps our healthcare system to care for those who are most vulnerable.

Now is the time to practice all these safety measures, and to work out alternatives to gathering for the time being. In time, we will continue to gather again, but for now there are better ways to show our care for each other.

Our update on Wednesday 18 March will include a list of alternative activities for your local congregation or faith community.
