April 2020 is Easter month. We embark on an Easter journey that starts in Bethphage and ends in Emmaus. It is a journey that starts with Jesus on a donkey and ends with Christ on the road. These stories are strange and powerful and it is good to approach them with open hearts and fresh eyes. Perhaps we need to find some new ways to access them-reading them in a different way-out loud rather than silently, or constructing a film script for the stories, or meditating silently after we have read the text several times. Above all the Easter journey needs time for us to walk its ways and to hear again that the apparent end was not the end, but the start of something great and glorious.
