The prophetic voice is a call to dare to come to hope and take hold of our part for all of creation.

In the closing verses is the hope of restoration for God’s people, and if one proceeds to Psalm 15 there is a bucket full of hope.    

What does a new heaven mean? What does a new earth look like? Are we presently living in a new heaven & earth? Are we in the process now? Is this newness a product of the ministry of ‘the body of Christ’?

Would we so pollute the very air we breathe that it impacts the very climate?

As we read, clause by clause we are led to a vision of THE CITY OF GOD, the city where God reigns. They are visions, they are great hopes, embedded in Psalm 48.

Mark’s reading shows Jesus giving fully and freely of himself in the power of God, he doesn’t plan each day as to what he will teach or whom he will heal. He gets out among people and the tasks come to him.

The vision and the task set before us is glorious and wonderful – reconciliation between God, each other and the whole creation – no less.

God’s Holy Spirit determines what changing mixture of people will join us, sharing in the wonderful, though often confused and chaotic fellowship in Christ we call the church.

The riches of God’s grace (2 Corinthians 4:15) empower us to live more meaningful, cooperative and productive lives.

At the heart of the Trinity lies a profound truth, God is a mystery understood in relationships with and through God and one another.
