Food For Families campaign – Uniting Vic. Tas are trying to help families struggling to make ends meet this festive season. This year we aim to collect 70 tonnes – that’s 20,000 shopping bags – of non-perishable food and household essentials to meet the growing demand for support across our community.

We estimate that 40,000 families will reach out to us for urgent help this year across Victoria and Tasmania. Food For Families is a great way to get together and give back to the community.

There are ways to encourage congregation members to get involved by hosting an event or competition. To register your congregation, click here.

ABC Giving Tree Appeal in Tasmania – This year marks the 30th anniversary of the ABC Giving Tree Appeal – Tasmania’s biggest Christmas charity campaign. The Appeal collects gifts for babies, children, young people and families, which are then distributed to vulnerable people across Tasmania.

Uniting in Tasmania is one of the organisations who is supported through this campaign, specifically those families who use our Emergency Relief services in Southern Tasmania.

If you congregation would like to make its own tree collection, Uniting would be delighted, and suggest s that in addition to gifts and other Christmas fare, that pantry staples, grocery vouchers and toiletries are always appreciated by our clients and their families
