EXPLORING THE BIBLE

From a Liberationist point of view, we should be using our faith to free those who are oppressed, not just those who are spiritually captive, but also those who are physically captive to poverty, lack of education, violence, disease and slavery.

All are equal in service to the people of God. They all have a specific purpose to serve God and the gathered community.

It is easy to go with what could be an obvious choice, especially when we are in a hurry or under pressure, but it is a wise person who takes time to listen and to understand the will of God.

Coming across situations which try our faith, long journeys and other peoples’ fears, it is sometimes difficult to keep God’s call to our hearts aflame.

Luke calls the people of his time to pay attention once more to GOD’s way of being in the world

Paul is in prison…. His circumstances are not conducive to happiness, but he has moved beyond mere happiness; he is ok with his life whatever is to come.
